Does anyone have a particular region of Canada in mind?

I was thinking of unrestricted immigration into a particular area with clearly defined borders. The immigrants would be limited to permanent residency in this area, and be subject to the gay administrative structures in this area. It would indeed require much persuasiveness, but isn't entirely impossible.

An area populated by gays - this already exists in modern, secular and tolerant countries - would have to be established firsts as a matter of fact, before being sought in an official manner.Such was for example the case for the Montreal gay district.Gays first started to settle there
in the early 80s.Then,when they had gathered the sufficient numbers, they claimed it in various officious ways based on the previous demographic
accomplished fact. For example, they came to decide who would get elected there in the local subdivision of the canadian hethro State. The area however is not very large and exclusively urban.A gay populated space as a preparatory step to a subdivision of an hethro State would have first to be larger, and then to encompass countryside. If we are to have a gay State,a certain proportion of the gay population will have to be trained
into colonizing the countryside as well as the cities. And we must expect that beyond a certain size of territory colonized by us,or beyond a certain figure and proportion of gays,non-gays will start opposing any further increase in our numbers or development of our geopolitical designs. There cannot be two States in the same place, especially not an heterosexual and an a gay one. There, enters into consideration the scenario of a possible disintegration of an hethro State, which we could not cause by way of our mere local means, but which we could see coming and then
exploit when the occasion arises.

2) Unrestricted gay immigration is something we won`t get from any hethro government. What we will get is some access for gays applying as
refugees from homophobic countries, and not in significantly large numbers. Our situation in that respect will be similar to the one of the Israeli Jews, who were still a minority (of about one third) of the entire population when the State of Israël was established in 1948.

Seriously, I sternly believe that organizatory structures must preceed any attempts to declare an "indipendent state". It would help immensely, if some arrangements could be made with some government concerning unrestricted gay immigration into specified area.

1) I entirely agree here with the notion of organized structures preceding the establishment of a State.

3) Not having the numbers,we will have to prevail in terms of organization.Which may work in conditions where the heterosexual society ceases for a while and for an interregnum to be organized. For example,if for some reason it disintegrates as a State organization.

Canada is such a large country, and such thinly populated, that one is tempted to believe Canadian government wouldn't be overly offended if requested for a small slice of countrie's territory. Maybe we should try and ask politely?  >:)

Given the weakness of the canadian State as I can observe it from within,no arrangement of any sort would be necessary in the event of a major
geopolitical crisis in north America. What we would not take ourselves would then be seized by some hethro group.

In Canada, where I live,It is relatively easy to represent oneself a society getting a large slice if not most or all of it,of its human replacements,by way of immigration. This is how the country came to be what it is nowadays. This also points out to the way of the gay State of the future, which could be
established in some area of what now forms part of the canadian State. For all too many States or Empires in history are only temporary entities.Canada is a fine place for gays to live at the moment. But it is a very weak State from a military point of view. This was demonstrated during the Oka uprising of 1990,staged by Mohawk indian separatists. It took 78 days to the canadian armed forces to get their surrender. If the neighbooring country, the United States, disintegrates under a combination of international disaster and local and national crisis,we will be on our own in the geopolitical space we call nowadays by the name of Canada. It will be then the time for individuals such my humble self to bade farewel to Canada, and perhaps to salute some gay independent Republic. But his will not come about without the support of the international gay community.

Here is an interesting article I found on Yahoo:

Thu Oct 13, 2005 8:11 PM ET

MONTREAL - Canada's foreign affairs minister said Thursday that the country badly needed more immigrants to replace aging workers who are headed for retirement.

Pierre Pettigrew said that increasing the population to 40 million by welcoming more immigrants would help foot the bill for new infrastructure, such as roads and bridges.

"This is a vast country, the infrastructure is expensive and it's a bigger country than the United States is," Pettigrew said. "I am saying that if we were 40 million Canadians, that infrastructure would not be necessarily a lot more expensive, but we would be more (people) to foot the bill."

The minister, in comments to reporters after a speech in Montreal, said Canada was built by immigrants and that's the way it would continue to be built.

Canada's population of just under 32 million has grown by only three million in the past decade. The federal government is set to unveil a new immigration plan this month that would open its doors to 320,000 skilled immigrants a year by the time the plan is fully implemented in five years.

A chance for us to negotiate for a small self-administred area?
